leah fisch leah4sciAre you worried that a week grasp of physics will lower your overall MCAT score and decrease your chances of acceptance into medical school?

Do you find that you spend hours working through your MCAT physics study material, reading the information, memorizing formulas, doing tons of practice questions, and still find yourself with a low Physical Sciences score?

Physics tends to be one of the more difficult subjects tested on the MCAT. The average MCAT prep course will offer you volumes of information, hundreds of equations to memorize, along with lists and lists of equations. And as a diligent student you have probably invested hours upon hours trying to cram all of this into your brain.

And when it doesn’t make too much sense, you continue cramming, because that’s what you’re taught to do. And when you get stuck on a question you learn the answer, and attempt to force that into your brain too.

But because the material is taught as a series of facts, you don’t have an intuitive understanding of what’s going on. And when you come across a tricky MCAT question, you don’t know how to tackle it because you still don’t have an inherent knowledge of concept, and true foundation of this material.

What if instead you had the means to really understand every concept? What if you understood the what and how behind every physics question and calculation? Would you see physics passages in a whole new light? Will you find yourself studying the ‘what and how’ of a missed question instead of just reading the answers?

Will this help you earn a higher score on your MCAT Physical Sciences Section?

But if all the courses teach facts and formulas to memorize? Where do you get this logical foundation?

If you’ve watched any of my videos or attended any of my live sessions, you know that this is exactly what I focus on when I teach. Not just the answer, but the what and how, the why, the logic behind the question.

I’m excited to announce the Foundations in MCAT Physics Bootcamp

derivationI will be hosting my very first live online MCAT bootcamp crash course at the end of August. This bootcamp allows you to join me, online, for an entire weekend, as I take you through topic after topic following the AAMC Physics topic guide.

How it works:

The bootcamp will be conducted via GoToWebinar in an online workshop format. By using a tablet in conjunction with a screen sharing program, you get to see my screen and hear me speak as I draw out and explain topic after topic. The program has a built in chat box allowing you to ask questions along the way to ensure you understand every topic being taught.

And best of all, you don’t have to worry about remembering everything, or even taking notes. In addition to the live bootcamp you also get access to every single session as a video recording along with a full color PDF of the session notes.

Saturday 23 August 2014 1pm – 10pm Eastern Time

Each session includes teaching/explanations + Interactive Q&A

And if I need to hear the information again?

If you cannot make every live session, or perhaps you’re the type of student that needs to hear the information a few times for it to sink in, then I’ve got you covered too. Every session will be recorded as a separate video, and posted, along with the session notes, for you to watch again and again till it sinks in.

Here is what you get when you purchase a bootcamp ticket:

  • Formula sheets prior to each session to know which equations we’ll be usng
  • Access to the entire live bootcamp listed above to learn and ask questions
  • Access to the video recordings (through Dec 2014) of every single bootcamp session
  • PDF of notes from every single bootcamp session
  • Access to an MCAT practice question set, written by me, to help you put what you’ve learned into practice
  • New: Access to live sessions where we work through MCAT style practice questions together via interactive Q&A Sessions
  • New: Video recordings + notes of MCAT questions solving sessions

[/green_tick_1_list]

As a bonus, you will also receive the video recording an notes of every past and future MCAT workshop.

  • Torque (July recording)
  • Kinematics (Aug 6 Recording)
  • Circuits (Aug 11 Recording)
  • Forces (Aug 18 Recording)
  • Access to video recording + notes of every additional MCAT workshop held in 2014

So how much does this cost?

As an MCAT tutor I charge $75/hour for weekday sessions and $100/hour for nights and weekends. If we covered all of this together via private tutoring sessions, it would come to 4 figures, and that’s just for the live sessions with notes.

But a bootcamp setting allows me to work with many students at the same time, in fact this bootcamp is capped at just 25 students to ensure everyone has a chance to participate and ask questions.

This allows me to charge just $399 for the entire live bootcamp + additional workshop recordings.

Questions and Answers About the Foundations in MCAT Physics Bootcamp:

Question: I have a family obligation on the first day of the bootcamp, can I still join for the second day?

Answer: When you purchase access to the bootcamp you get access to every single session. If you cannot make a few that’s ok, join as many live sessions as you can, and wait for the recordings on the rest

Question: How quickly will the video replay sessions get posted?

Answer: Each session has to be transcoded before posting, this can take a day or two. I expect to have the entire bootcamp series posted live within 24 hours of the bootcamp ending.

Question: I’m taking my MCAT in January, does it make sense for me to attend in August?

Answer: I recommend spending at least 3 months studying for the MCAT. In addition to the live session you will have access to the recordings till the end of 2014. Why not join, get your foundation, then revisit the videos as you get to each topic in your study schedule.

Question: I plan to take my MCAT next year, and haven’t taken college physics yet. Does it make sense for me to join?

Answer: This is an MCAT physics bootcamp which requires some background in physics. The teachings and calculations will focus specifically on the MCAT, but you are welcome to join and get ‘grounded’ in concepts to help make your course easier. Just realize that I will only answer MCAT related questions during the live sessions.
